The TAPT Administrative Board is dedicated to the retreat experience being implemented with the intended theology and Christian encounter. Additionally, we are ensuring our contingency plans related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) put the health, safety, and well-being of our teens at the forefront. As our plans evolve, we continue to monitor and take action on the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, the Indiana Department of Health, and the Lake and Porter County Department of Health.
In an overabundance of caution, the TAPT Administrative Board has decided it would be in the best interest of the TAPTsters and their retreat experience to cancel this year’s TAPT. This decision was made after much prayer and reflection. With many school districts limiting, and in some cases cancelling extra-curricular events, we would prefer to be proactive and make this necessary decision.
Although we know this may cause challenges for our families, sadness for our Retreat Team, as well as the registered TAPTsters, it is essential for us to prioritize safety of all by implementing our TAPT Health and Safety Plan in collaboration with the actions of our surrounding communities through this quickly evolving health situation. The Diocese of Gary will continue to monitor the CDC, USCCB, state and local health care agencies for COVID-19 protocols and offer updated recommendations and policies regarding the coronavirus.
