HOTEL

We know our hotel! This year, we will be staying at the SpringHill Suites Indianapolis Downtown (601 West Washington Street). If you have participated in NCYC in the past, SpringHill is located right next door to the Courtyard hotel where our diocesan group has stayed in previous years. They are physically connected to each other. It is a 15 minute walk from the hotel to Lucas Oil.
After talking with a few youth ministry leaders, we decided to look into different hotels. The main difference in this this one is that they offer a “full hot breakfast buffet” included in the price of the hotel stay. According to their website, the hotel serves “scrambled eggs, assorted pastries, yogurts, cereals and more” daily. Friday, breakfast is served from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM, and on Saturday and Sunday it is served from 7-10:00 AM. I don’t know how busy this will be during NCYC, but this is now an option for your groups.
Hotel costs are still an estimate based on current tax rates. The hotel rate we have been quoted for SpringHill Suits is $182 + tax per night (this includes the full hot breakfast buffet). Current estimates* for three nights:
  • One teen sharing with three other teens would pay about $160 for their entire hotel stay.
  • If one teen was sharing a room with two other teens, the hotel room would be about $213 per person.
  • For one person sharing a room with one other person, the hotel room would be about $320 per person.
  • And for single occupancy, the room would be about $639 for three nights..
*Please note: these are still estimates. I am waiting to hear back from our hotel contact to confirm tax rates.
When I received our housing assignment, I did notice something and I wanted to hear your input and thoughts. The rooms that we have received include rooms with two beds. It looks like those rooms also have a pullout bed as well. The number of people allowed in those rooms are 5. What do you think? Would you want the option for five students in one room? Is that too much? I’m going to confirm with our hotel contact that that is a possibility. If five students shared one room, it would be about $128 per person in the room for their hotel stay. Let Vicky know what you think ([email protected])

TRANSPORTATION

The diocese is able to provide transportation-free of charge-for NCYC participants. We will be arranging charter buses to transport NCYC pilgrims from NWI down to Indy and from Indy back to NWI. As we get closer to the date, I will update you on the schedule of buses. We will only have the buses to take us down to Indy and to bring us back home. Thankfully, our hotel, SpringHill Suites, is within walking distance of Lucas Oil Stadium and the Convention Center.

I am looking for one or two group leaders who would be available to help with bus coordination on travel days. In order to get our credentials and things set up for when you arrive at NCYC, I will be arriving in Indy the day before. If you are able to help out, please let me know.Â
