Youth and Young Adult Ministry serves youth (middle and high school aged teenagers), young adults (those in their 20’s and 30’s) and those who minister to young people in the Catholic Diocese of Gary.
Hello! My name is Vicky Hathaway and I am happy to serve you as the Coordinator for Youth and Young Adults here in the Diocese of Gary. I am your contact person here at the Diocese of Gary for all things youth and young adult ministry related. My mission is to support those who minister to young people, provide formation opportunities, and coordinate faith experiences at a diocesan level. I am your advocate here in the Pastoral Center and I will be your spiritual “cheer-leader,” praying with and for you and walking with you as you minister to young people.
How we can help you as you minister to your young people:
- Prayers: you don’t even have to ask! Please let us know if there is something specific we can pray for you and with you.
- Training and Formation, including Youth Ministry 101/Young Adult Ministry 101, Best Practices, Mental Health Concerns, and more.
- Consultation/Brainstorming on ministry in your parish. Even if your ministry isn’t youth or young adult specific, we can help you as you minister with them.
- Communication between Diocese of Gary and ministers.
- Advocating for youth and young adult needs
