As you may know, two years ago, the Bishops of  the United States called for a Eucharistic Revival in  the American Church. The aim of this three-year initiative is to renew the Church by enkindling a living relationship with the Lord Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. The culminating event of the Revival is a Eucharistic Congress, which will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis from July 17-21, 2024. Think, NCYC but with a lot more people. Adults, youth, families, religious brothers and sisters, clergy, and Bishops. A lot of people!

The Congress is open to anyone to participate. The organizers are in the process of putting together special content just for high school students who attend with their youth ministry groups. You are invited to consider if you would like to take your high schoolers to the Eucharistic Congress.

Registration is open.

If you are interested in taking your young people, AWESOME! There are a few ways to register your young people:

1) Youth ministry groups attending together: If you are a youth ministry leader and would like to take a group of high school students, you can do that. There is a special track at the Congress just for youth and their chaperones. To attend this track, you must register as a "youth group student" or "youth group adult" on the registration page. Contact Vicky and she can walk you through the process. Eucharistic Congress passes are discounted for youth group students and their chaperones to $250 per pass.

2) Youth attending with their family members: Young people can also stay with their parents or legal guardians throughout the Congress, attending breakout sessions with them. Eucharistic Congress passes are discounted to $99 for students registering with their family members. Please note: if a teen registers with their family member, they cannot attend the youth specific track.

Passes do not include housing. Receiving a pass does give you access to a discounted block of hotels. Alternative, non-hotel housing options will also be available for groups attending the Congress. Youth ministry groups and seminarians are encouraged to look into this type of housing. These rooms will be "university dorms, church/school sleep spaces, or even host families, all allowing for more cost-efficient housing for these groups." The alternative housing spaces will become available in summer 2023 on a first-come, first-served basis. If you/your group registers before summer 2023 but is interested in receiving information for alternative housing once it’s made available, please email [email protected]. Youth Groups are welcome to book hotel housing or make their own arrangements.

If you are any questions, please let Vicky know. We'll answer what we can and will find the answers if we can't.

Encounter National Eucharistic Congress with Marian University

Have a teen who wants to go to the Eucharistic Congress, but they don't have a group to go with? Is the cost really daunting? Do you want to take a group of your teens but want more guidance on how to help your young people process what they are experiencing?

Marian University, a Catholic university located about 15 minutes from downtown Indianapolis, will be hosting a wonderful opportunity to help you and your young people have a deeper encounter with the Eucharist and to walk with you as you journey through the Congress. Marian invites high school youth (current freshman through seniors) who are faith-filled leaders within your parish community and any adult(s) who serves as a youth minister(s) for a parish/diocese to consider attending the Eucharistic Congress with them. The dates are the same as the Congress, July 17-21. Students will be housed and fed at Marian University (3200 Cold Spring Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46222).

The cost of this experience is $600 per person. This will include:

  • the cost of a NEC pass
  • overnight accommodations in university housing (dorms)
  • meals
  • transportation from Marian University to downtown and back each day
  • and other giveaway items

During the week, students will be placed in small groups led by college-aged mentors and adult chaperones. Together, they will attend the "Eucharistic Missionary" track at the NEC. In their small groups, they will process what they experienced and will explore how they can take a deeper role in spreading the Gospel to those around them.

Youth can attend this experience without any parish staff. As mentioned before, each youth will be placed in a small group with other high school youth, a couple college-aged students, and an adult chaperone. Marian University will hire and train a staff of chaperones with a ratio of 1:4 chaperone to youth.

Additionally, Marian University will offer any adult who is a youth minister for the parish/diocese an opportunity to serve as a chaperone for this experience. In doing so, we will provide Safe Parish and small group training, and a stipend covering the costs of registration.

To attend with Marian University, students and adults will need to register through Marian. You do not need to purchases NEC passes.
